Native Voices at the Autry’s First Look Series: Then & Now

About This Show

What is the history and legacy of the Indian boarding school and how does it inform or haunt Native Americans today? Using historical documents, first-person narratives, and present-day interviews of boarding school survivors, an ensemble of Native performers curates an evening of new work that explores the forced dispersal of Native peoples and the attempt to eradicate their cultural traditions and practices.
