This 1928 expressionist drama is based on the true story of Ruth Brown Snyder, the first woman sentenced to death by electrocution at Sing Sing for the brutal murder of her husband. In 1927, Treadwell witnessed this sensational murder trial creating the insightful view into the roles and lives of women in 1920s New York. Nataki Garrett directs.
