About This Show

Employing ritualistic staging, both Arabic and English languages, minimal props and costumes and a soundscape of Western rock and Arabic beats, Macbeth will also be transforming the Knightsbridge Theatre into an arena which literally spills into the audience.

Award-winning director Tiger Reel (Henry V: Masters of War, Chess, The Comedy of Errors, Antony and Cleopatra: The Remix) has staged this most nihilistic of Shakespeare’s plays in a stark, ritualistic, minimalist world where the Arabic and American corporate cultures dovetail into each other. The result is a world of fear, sexual repression, aggression and violence and a people unhinged from the context of their own histories and traditions.
