About This Show

A multi-author “response” to systemic racism throughout American history. This entertaining, educational & informative production is a multi-media event told from a historical perspective through poetry, short plays, video and song. There will be talkbacks and a call for audience responses, as well as an art exhibit in the Stella Adler/LA Gallery. The show will also highlight the remembrance of the 48th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the 24th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Riots. April is also National Poetry Month and Towne Street has invited a number of Spoken Word artists to contribute their responses during the run.
