Summer Stock ’03 presents the world premiere of a new musical Dolls!: A Curiously Caustic Cautionary Tale About the Remarkable Secret LIfe of the Dolls Left Behind.
Is there more to a doll than is evident in the glassy eyes, painted smile, and
plastic appendages? Is the one thing we have forgotten in our journey to
become “adults” the thing we should cherish the most? And is the discarded
doll merely a metaphor for a child’s own feelings of abandonment and
loneliness? The answers to these questions and more are astonishingly
revealed by nine most unusual young people in this intriguing and magical
musical.
Written and directed by Chris DeCarlo and Evelyn Rudie from an idea by
Playhouse Young Professionals’ Company member Danielle Bardellini, with
words and music by E. Rudie.
