Bill Norton heads west after getting news his father, the owner of the Bar N Ranch, has died in an accident. When Bill arrives in town he is met with laughter, thanks to his Eastern hat and tailored suit, and the news that the ranch is not his.

Flat broke, he gets a job washing dishes for the new owner of the Bar N. But he soon finds things don’t add up, cattle are missing and there are many unanswered questions about his dad’s death. When Bill starts probing for the truth he finds more than pots and pans aimed in his direction!
