Commedus Interruptus, the official comedy troupe of the University of Southern California, appear in Burning Down the House, a full-length comedy about a twenty something’s entanglements with arson, murder, bridesmaids, best men, and Orange County. When Ron Roskins’ fiancee dumps him, he decides what better way to get over her than kill himself? After going to Home Depot on Sunset for some hanging supplies, Ron is poised to meet his maker when his Mother arrives… and won’t leave. Someone?s burnt down Ron’s ex-fiancee’s house and everyone (especially his Mother) thinks he did it. Eventually, the whole ex-wedding party descends upon Ron, postponing his demise even more. Over the course of the play we discover who burnt down the house, why Ron and his betrothed really broke up, and the true meaning of “dysfunctional.”
