About This Show

Beware of nice old ladies offering homemade wine! Arsenic and Old Lace, one of the most well-written and enduring comedies of American theatre gives the holidays a wicked twist at the Knightsbridge Theatre. R.J. Grindlinger directs.

Everyone knows the aging, fluttery Brewster sisters, Abby and Martha are the kindest, most generous ladies in Brooklyn. As an act of kindness, they have recently been finding lonely men who have no one to care for them, poisoning them, and burying them in the basement of their old Brooklyn manor.

Their nephew Mortimer who has recently become engaged to the minister’s daughter Elaine is understandably alarmed when he discovers his beloved aunts “little kindnesses.” Add to this a brother named Teddy who thinks he’s President Roosevelt, and another named Jonathan who’s a homicidal maniac with a passing resemblance to Boris Karloff. Mortimer has second thoughts about marriage when he realizes insanity not only runs in his family, it practically gallops!
