New York City
Los Angeles theater goers can take a walk on the wild side and see a play a day by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks, known for her fearless vision and unexpected delivery for an entire year.
Center Theatre Group spearheads the Los Angeles component of this nation-wide festival. In what is being billed as the largest theatre collaboration in U.S. history, 365 National Festival features the participation of some 600 theatre companies and university campuses in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco and Chicago. 365 Days/365 Plays was created by Parks, who in 2002 committed to writing a play a day for the next 365 days. The result is a series of brief, brilliant theatre pieces that will be performed in traditional theatre spaces or site-specific locations, fully staged or as readings.
