About This Show

Written by Bruce Goodrich, and composed by Rob Hartmann, 24 Hours takes place in present-day urban Los Angeles at a peer-crisis center. The hotline primarily receives calls from teenagers in peril or pain; many times urgent, sometimes not so urgent, but no less needy.

The volunteers and staff are mostly from disadvantaged (i.e. “colorful”) backgrounds and have pulled themselves up from the brink, in their own unique ways. They are proof that pulling it together is possible. When Brian Hopkins, a “suburbanite,” shows up to volunteer before going to college in the fall, a journey of self-realization soon follows.
There are additional performances on August 8, 15, 22 at 2pm and 7pm. There is a 2pm matinee on July 31.
