Set in the 1930s in the middle of a heat wave in a southwestern town, 110 In the Shade tells the story of Lizzie Curry, a woman who’s grown weary of tending to her well-meaning father and two meddling brothers. On the verge of becoming an old maid she dreams of a life of her own. When a charismatic stranger shows up in town promising rain and a whole lot more, Lizzie’s life is turned upside down. 110 In the Shade is a touching musical of love and hope based on the play, The Rainmaker.
