You Never Know
$40.00 Adult; $35.00 Senior; $20.00 Student
Originally written by Cole Porter in 1929 and produced in Europe in 1936 as a ‘European-style chamber Musical,’ the Shubert Brothers had the book rewritten, added a large chorus, showgirls and several new songs by other composers for its Broadway premiere two years later. Directed by IRNE Nominated Director (Stoneham Theatre’s Thrill Me), Caitlin Lowans, Stoneham Theatre presents an adaptation of You Never Know by Rowland Leigh and Paul Lazarus created in 1991 for a star-studded production at The Pasadena Playhouse. This adaptation went back to Porter’s original vision of a lighthearted chamber musical about an upstairs/downstairs case of mistaken identity with romance and seduction gone deliciously awry.
