The Berkshire Theatre Festival presents Peter Pan, written by J.M.Barrie in a new version by JOhn Caird and Trevor Nunn.
Director Eric Hill has once again deftly scupted a well-loved classic for the Main Stage. Applauded for his innovative and evocative productions, Hill brings to Peter Pan a fresh look and the stunning theatricality BTF audiences have come to expect of him. Although the whimsical and charming story of the boy who wouldn’t grow up remains intact, the BTF’s production has greatly enhanced its allure for adults. Indeed, the play’s new character, the authorial Storyteller, brings an ironical and ambiguous voice that speaks as clearly to adults as it does to children.
There is a Talk-Back performance on Monday, August 18.
