The Assembled Parties to Assemble on Broadway for the First Official Time Tonight

The new Richard Greenberg play stars Jessica Hecht and Judith Light.

Tonight marks the official Broadway opening of Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway production of the new play by Richard Greenberg, The Assembled Parties, which plays the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

The Assembled Parties stars Jessica Hecht (Harvey), Judith Light (Other Desert Cities), Sam Robards (HBO's Treme), and Mark Blum (Gore Vidal's The Best Man) as an Upper West Side Jewish family who gather in 1980 and again in 2000. During their earlier gathering, the family finds itself hosting a houseguest, played by Jeremy Shamos (Glengarry Glen Ross), who insinuates himself into the family drama.

The Assembled Parties is the second show this Broadway season featuring the work of Tony Award winner Richard Greenberg. His adaptation of Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's opened at the Cort Theatre, starring Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke, on March 20.

The design team includes Santo Loquasto (sets), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting), and Obadiah Eaves (original music and sound).
