Broadway stars will sing a collection of Gealt's songs to support marriage equality in Here For You — Ballads for Broadway Impact.
In the true spirit of Broadway camaraderie, composer Jonathan Reid Gealt has gathered together some of the biggest stars of the Great White Way to record his songs for an acoustic nine-track album benefiting Broadway Impact and its fight for marriage equality.
The album, entitled Here For You — Ballads for Broadway Impact, will feature performances by Tony Award nominees Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, NBC's Smash) and Kelli O'Hara (Nice Work If You Can Get It), as well as Broadway veterans Caissie Levy (Ghost), Rachel Potter (Evita), Katie Thompson (Giant), Adrienne Warren (Bring It On), Jason Gotay (Bring It On), and Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture). Finalist of NBC's The Voice, Loren Allred, will also record for the album. With musical direction by Matt Hinkley, who also served as coarranger for the nine song selections, the album is produced by Jonathan Reid Gealt, James Bilodeau, Matt Hinkley, and Brian Parker.
A release concert at The Cutting Room will launch the album on April 29. The concert will feature the album's artists Allred, Gotay, Potter, Warren, and Weiss, with additional performances by Zak Resnick (Mamma Mia!), Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening), Michael Deleget (Les Misérables), and Dan DeLuca. In addition to songs on the album, the concert will include selections from Gealt's debut album, "Thirteen Stories Down," as well as songs from his upcoming musical, Dust and Shadow.
