Itamar Moses and Gaby Alter's Reality-TV Musical Nobody Loves You to Receive Development Reading
The workshop will be directed by Tony winner Pam MacKinnon.
The Araca Group will present a two-week developmental reading of Itamar Moses and Gaby Alter's musical Nobody Loves You on April 17 and 18, the organization has announced.
Tony-winner Pam MacKinnon will helm the reading, with Kelly Devine serving as choreographer. The company is set to include Heath Calvert, Roe Hartrampf, and Autumn Hurlbert, all of whom appeared in a production at Second Stage Theatre last summer, along with Alex Brightman, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Emily Padgett, Molly Ranson, and Jarrod Spector. Calvert received a 2014 Lucille Lortel Award nomination for his performance.
Nobody Loves You tells the story of a graduate student in philosophy who, in an attempt to win back his ex-girlfriend, auditions for and finds himself cast on a reality TV dating show. His plan is threatened when a sudden, unexpected on-set love connection begins to develop.
Michelle Tattenbaum served as director on the show's Second Stage run. The show premiered in 2012 at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre.
