Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester to Join James Franco and Chris O'Dowd in Of Mice and Men on Broadway
Meester will take on the role of “Curley’s Wife.”
Star of The CW's Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester, will join the previously announced James Franco and Chris O'Dowd in Broadway's Of Mice and Men. The production is set to begin performances March 19, with an opening set for April 16 at the Longacre Theatre.
Adapted by John Steinbeck from his novella of the same title, Of Mice and Men tells the story of unlikely friends George (Franco) and Lennie (O'Dowd), who drift from job to job across California, never letting go of their dreams of owning an acre of land of their very own. The play first premiered in 1937, the same year that the book was published.
In addition to Gossip Girl, Meester's television credits include 24, Entourage, and House. On film, she starred opposite Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw in the feature film Country Strong.
