Doubt Opera, Picasso's Desire Caught by the Tail Set for Guggenheim Museum's Works and Process Series

A preview of the opera version of John Patrick Shanley's play Doubt is among the works that will presented as part of the Works and Process fall season at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum's Peter B. Lewis Theater.

Excerpts from Minnesota Opera's production of Doubt, written by Douglas J. Cuomo, will be presented on November 4 and 5 at 7:30pm. Following the presentation, essayist Robert Marx will moderate a discussion with Cuomo, Shanley, and director Kevin Newbury. The evening will be live-streamed at on November 4.

Pablo Picasso's Surrealist play Desire Caught by the Tail, written in occupied Paris in January, 1941, will be presented on October 14 and 15 at 7:30pm, under the direction of Anne Bogart.

Excerpts from Robert Lepage's staging of Thomas Adès' opera The Tempest, to be presented by The Metropolitan Opera, will be performed on Monday, October 8 at 7:30pm. Following the presentation, Met General Manager Peter Gelb will moderate a discussion with Lepage, who also directed the Met's recent production of Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen. This evening will also be live streamed.

The series will also feature performances by Pacific Northwest Ballet, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Royal Danish Ballet, and more.
