The Weir takes place in a small pub in the Irish countryside where Valerie arrives and is sucked into an evening of ghostly stories told by the local bachelors. What starts out as blarney soon turns dark as the tales drift into the realm of the supernatural. And Valerie reveals a startling story of her own.
The production will star Dan Butler (Fraiser), Billy Carter (A Moon for the Misbegotten), Tessa Klein (War Horse), John Keating, and Sean Gormley.
The production features set design by Charlie Corcoran, lighting design by Michael Gottlieb, costume design by Leon Dobkowski, and sound design by Drew Levy.
The Irish Repertory Theatre was cofounded by producing director Ciarán O'Reilly and artistic director Charlotte Moore in September 1988. The theater aims to bring works by Irish and Irish-American masters and contemporary playwrights to American audiences and to provide a context for understanding the contemporary Irish-American experience.
