With tickets on ebay selling for more than the cost of your annual Carnival Cruise, it’s likely that you won’t be one of the lucky Manilow Maniacs to see Manilow on Broadway, the Grammy, Emmy, and Tony award winner’s concert series at New York’s St. James Theater. But if you just “Can’t Smile Without Him”, here are five videos of the Man-ilow himself in all of his sensual, fun-loving glory.
Not a Fanilow? Not for long.
1. Barry Takes to the Talk Show Circuit
Barry Manilow sings to freaking-out fan Jenny McCarthy on the Donnie and Marie Show.
Fun fact: Jenny McCarthy is the cousin of Bridesmaids actress Melissa McCarthy, who is also a Manilow fan…probably.
2. Will & Grace? More Like Will & Barry
Eric McCormack cha-chas with Manilow during the singer’s cameo on Will and Grace.
Fun fact: Barry later guested on Megan Mullally’s daytime talk show where they performed a duet of “What The World Needs Now Is Love.”
3. Read Em And Weep…Real Men Do Cry
Dressed as a sad clown, Manilow emotes his way through the song “Read Em And Weep” for Top Of The Pops 1983.
Fun fact: This song was actually written by Jim Steinman for Meat Loaf, the original sad clown.
4. Manilow Meets McBeal
In this clip from Ally McBeal, cameo-er extraordinaire Barry Manilow appears in a vision to Ally. Skip ahead to the one minute mark to see him sing all her sorrows away (sort of).
Fun fact: The song Manilow is singing in this clip is entitled “Weekend In New England” from his 1976 album This One’s For You.
5. He Can Act Too!?
Barry plays a radio station program director and tries to throw out his own music in this video featuring his song “Hey Mambo.”
Fun fact: Though not an actor, Barry Manilow narrated the 2008 animated TV movie Cranberry Christmas.
And, of course, “Copacabana.” Because, “Copacabana.”
