About This Show

Adaptor Wayne S. Rawley relocates Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull to modern-day California, translating the desires, foibles, and disappointments of Chekov’s unforgettable characters into our own cultural milieu. Garry is in love with Nina. Irene is in love with Barry. Albert is in love with Marissa. Marissa is in love with Garry. Nina is in love with Barry. Paula is in love with Dr. Gene. Barry is in love with Nina. Dr. Gene is in love with himself, and Uncle Sulley would f**king love it if he could just f**king move back to mother-f**king Los Angeles. Garry wants to be an artist. Nina wants to be a star. Irene used to be famous and would like to be again. Barry is famous, and could make any one of them a star with a single phone call. But he just wants to fish. And maybe have sex with that pretty young girl who he just saw act in a very bad play that Garry wrote.
Just about everybody in this comedy wants something so bad they can’t hardly stand it and just about nobody gets it.

There are Sunday matinees at 2:00pm on June 8 and 15.
