The Purse Thief

George is an unemployed salesman so down on his luck he’s been sleeping in the park and going on job interviews wearing a suit he found in the trash. Discouraged, he’s changed his profession to purse snatcher. However, his victims never react the way he expects. Mostly they chase him and retrieve their belongings. As a thief, George is a complete failure. One of his victims, Sharon Peabody, is desperate, consumed with guilt, has a gun, one bullet and is about to end it all. Her life is a bigger mess than George’s. It’s the start of something good? This script was just awarded the best One Act at the Orlando Fringe Festival 2011.
