About This Show

Award-winning playwright Jose Rivera adapts Calderon de la Barca’s literary classic Life is a Dream. The story traces the imprisonment from birth of Prince Sigismundo by his superstitious father. The king believes that Sigismundo has been cursed by the ill-fated stars. In a twist of events the prince becomes king for a day, thus forcing the whole regal family to examine what’s right and what’s wrong.
This production is part of the Potomac Theatre Festival, as presented by the Olney Theatre.
