About This Show

There is nothing more theatrical than Kurt Weill’s music. It evokes explosive times in our history, an era rich in artistic expression. For his new musical creation, Guy Mignault has selected, in addition to songs by Kurt Weill, music by several of his contemporaries. Each song is a mini-play, the show, a bouquet of stories plucked from musical theatre and its colourful characters. Autour de Kurt Weill is not a play, it is not a tragedy, a drama, or even a comedy. It is a bit of everything and it is an opportunity to see, on the same stage, and in the course of the same performance, La Fiancée du pirate, Don Quichotte, Émile Nelligan and so many others! This is a show which reveals what it is that prompts artists to speak up, to put their emotions on stage.

There are Saturday matinees on May 8 and 15 at 3:30pm and Sunday matinees on May 2 and 9 at 2:30pm.
