Amy’s View, originally produced at the Royal National Theatre in London and winner of two Tonys in its Off-Broadway production, makes its regional premiere at the Stages Repertory Theatre. In David Hare’s bitterly funny drama, the theatre is Esme Allen’s livelihood and lifeblood. But now the fading grande dame of London’s West End faces the twilight of her career, even as her ambitious son-in-law ascends the glittering throne of television fame. Esme’s daughter Amy is caught between them and their opposing worlds.
