About This Show

Set obviously enough in Venice, California, VENICE is the story of two families; one black, one white inextricably drawn together by two generations: by the fathers, who fought side by side in Vietnam; by the sons, who are caught up in the gang violence waged on urban streets today; and by the mothers and wives who attempt to bridge the gap between prejudice and understanding. The play’s action takes place against the backdrop of Venice, Los Angeles beach community well known for its diverse mixture of blacks, whites, Latinos and Asians.
