About This Show

At the first women’s rights conference held at Seneca Falls, NY, in 1848, Elizabeth Cady Stanton made a statement that changed history for women. “Resolved that it is the duty of the women of this country to secure themselves their sacred right to the elective franchise.” And so began a 72-year battle for women’s right to vote. In Election Year 2004, it is important to note that women have only been voting in Presidential Elections since the 1920s. The East Lynne Theater Company presents The Long Road to Victory, written and performed by Annette M. Baldwin, for only four performances.
