About This Show

Forum Theatre Company presents the New Jersey premiere of Richard Sabellico’s musical adaptation of Samuel Raphaelson’s play. The Jazz Singer is the classic story of a young man determined to become a Broadway singer. However, his dreams are shattered when his father demands he follow the family tradition and take over as Cantor of their synagogue. The score features songs Al Jolson made famous in the movie, including “Swanee,” “Mammy,” “April Showers” and “Rainbow Round My Shoulder.”
