About This Show

August Wilson’s Radio Golf is the sequel to the late playwright’s critically acclaimed Gem of the Ocean. The play is set in the Pittsburgh Hill District in 1997. Harmon Wilks is a successful real estate developer and mayoral candidate with a plan to revitalize the neighborhood. But when Aunt Ester’s house at 1839 Wylie Avenue is slated for demolition, a stranger claiming ownership appears, forcing Wilks to confront his relationship with his heritage. Kenny Leon directs.

Infused by the spirits and dreams of generations past, Radio Golf is a powerful, contemporary play that completes Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winner August Wilson’s extraordinary 20th century cycle of the African-American experience.
