About This Show

The setting is a monastery circa 1250 A.D. and the monks are having some serious money troubles. Incorruptible, a light comedy about the Dark Ages, is coming to Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre. Like 40 Productions presents this witty farce about religion in medieval times.

Incorruptible’s ragtag group of monks is in a desperate state. The enshrined skeleton of the monastery’s patron has not worked a miracle in 13 years. Without miracles, the abbey is no longer a popular pilgrim destination, hence no longer the recipient of generous donations. All seems lost until a cunning one-eyed minstrel suggests an outrageous new way to pay old debts. Michael Hollinger’s 1996 comedy has been applauded as a lightening fast satire that is rich in both verbal and physical humor.
