About This Show

One of the 10 most performed operas of all time; La Traviata tells the story of Violetta, an infamous courtesan in fragile health, her lover, The Baron, and Alfredo, a young nobleman who worships her from afar.

La Traviata (“fallen woman”) features some of the best-known opera tunes, like the drinking song “Libiamo,” the love song “Amami, Alfredo,” (“Love me, Alfredo”), and “Parigi, O Cara,” (“Dearest, We’ll Leave Paris”), a wishful fantasy and poignant counterpoint to a tragic ending. NYC’s critically acclaimed Dicapo Opera Theatre presents a fully staged and costumed production, with an orchestra in the pit and English translations projected above the stage!
