Eugene O’Neill’s second Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Anna Christie, tells the story of an embittered woman who, in 1910, leaves the Midwest where she has been raised, to join her father who is the captain of a barge along the northeastern shore. When a sailor falls in love with her, Anna is forced to reveal her past to him and her father.
