About This Show

The George Street Playhouse concludes its 2000 season with the regional theatrical premiere of A.R. Gurney’s Ancestral Voices. On a simple, unadorned set, five actors read a fascinating story to the audience: in the years before WWII in Buffalo, a young man’s family is ripped apart by the divorce of his grandparents. As his grandmother remarries and faces the disapproving ladies at the social club, his grandfather struggles to move on with his life. Are the family bonds strong enough to withstand such shattering charges?
The production will feature a rotating cast which will include: Conraid Bain, Matthew Fox, Michael Learned, Jane Powell, Fred Savage, Frances Sternhagen and Ralph Waite.
