and his relationship with a zany, aspiring young female lyricist.
The only musical Simon wrote from scratch, They’re Playing Our
Song was seeded by the real-life romance of the show’s composer
and lyricist (Hamlisch and Sager) and ran for 1,082 performances
on Broadway. Features the hit songs “I Still Believe in Love” and
“They’re Playing our Song.”
