Everything in the Garden

About This Show

Everything in the Garden was originally written by Giles Cooper, who was killed before he had the chance to retool it for an American audience. Edward Albee was chosen to complete this transition adding his own unique depth and profound insights. However, the play was directed as a serious drama undermining its hilarious comedic structure causing a short Broadway run. Theater9/12 revisits this play, restoring the power of its comedic observations without sacrificing its profundity.

While we all struggle with a doubtful economic future, the extremes of Everything in the Garden satirize and poke fun at our often preposterous tussles to keep up with our own celebrated Joneses.
