The Sound of Music is a true story of the postulant Maria Rainer set in Salzburg, Austria in the late 1930’s. In this well-loved musical, Maria proves too high-spirited for the religious life and is sent to serve as governess for the seven children of the widowed Captain von Trapp. Maria’s rapport with the von Trapp children, along with her generosity and spirit, gradually capture the heart of the stern Captain, and they are soon married. When they return from their honeymoon, they discover that the Nazis have invaded Austria and have demanded the Captain’s immediate service in their navy.There is no 2pm show on Jan 18, no show on Jan 28, and no 6:30pm show on Feb 2.
