About This Show

Splittin’ the Raft is a highly-stylized retelling of the story of Huck Finn and slave Jim. This rendition of Mark Twain’s classic is interpreted by the great abolitionist Frederick Douglass, one of America’s greatest voices for freedom, in hopes of setting the record straight. Four actors play multiple roles, as Mark Twain’s humor, Frederick Douglass’ brilliant language, African-American spirituals, and challenging ideas about race relations in America are highlighted.

Additional matinees on Saturdays, November 19 and December 10 at 2pm, as well as Wednesday, November 23 at 1pm and Thursday December 1 at 1pm.
