About This Show

Part thriller, part drama, at once wildly comic and breathtakingly suspenseful, Orphans has been compared to works by Pinter and Shepard, with a searing emotional intensity that lingers long after the final words are spoken. Lyle Kessler’s play follows the plight of two young brothers: the emotionally volatile Treat and the sweetly naive Phillip, who were orphaned at an early age. Living hand to mouth in Philadelphia, Treat supports them by thieving. Their world is upended by Harold, a middle aged man who appearance propels the three men into a journey of self-discovery that twists the status quo.
