Mansaku-no-kai Kyogen Theatre of Japan

The celebrated kyogen company Mansaku-no-kai will perform at the Herbst Theatre December 6th & 7th as part of a three-city American tour this December. Funded by The Japan Foundation, the presenters are Theatre of Yugen in San Francisco, Japan Society of New York and Japan Society of Boston.

The Company will perform two programs:

Saturday December 6 at 8:00pm: Busu/Sweet Poison and Utsubozaru/Monkey Skin Quiver
Sunday December 7 at 3:00pm: Utsubozaru/Monkey Skin Quiver and Kawakami/Blindness, Sight, and Blindness Again

Including the debut appearance of Mansaku’s grandson (son of Mansai), three generations of Nomura family members will appear onstage together. This will be Mansaku’s final United States tour.
