International Jazz Day

San Jose Jazz and San José State University present an afternoon and evening of free community events from 12-8pm in celebration of International Jazz Day. The events include the following:

• 12-4:45pm: a hip-hop dance show and clinic by FutureArtsNow! on the mobile Boom Box Stage, as well as performances by the SJZ Progressions Ensemble, SJZ High School All Stars U19s Combo, and Howard Wiley and Extra Nappy
• 3:30pm: a screening of the documentary 1959, the Year That Changed Jazz
• 5pm: drummer Will Calhoun’s tribute to Elvin Jones
• 7pm: an SJSU Jazz Orchestra performance with Tiffany Austin
