Written by Bay Area comedian Rob Becker, Defending the Caveman originally opened in San Francisco in 1991 and played to sold-out crowds around the United States before opening on Broadway in 1995. Running for 702 performances, Defending the Caveman played for two and a half years on Broadway, making it the longest running solo play in Broadway’s history; this blockbuster comedy is now a worldwide hit with productions in 30 countries, including Canada, South Africa, Iceland, Sweden, and Germany, and has been translated into more than 15 different languages.
