Born Yesterday

Garson Kanin’s classic comedy Born Yesterday is a brassy Americanization of the Pygmalion tale set in an exclusive DC hotel suite just after the close of World War II. Junk dealer Harry Brock has arrived in the Capitol to do some major post-War profiteering, but he must first enlist a senator and a classy girlfriend to give him respectability. The bright young reporter that he hires to teach his tootsie-in-school social graces gives the anti-hero a social conscience.
