About This Show

Incorporating sensuous choreography, contemporary scenic elements, bold music and a comedic tale of romance and magic, this production moves to a pulsating urban beat that resonates for a hip, young audience. Director Tim Supple’s South Asian production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream combines the skills of actors, dancers, martial arts experts, musicians, and street acrobats from across India and Sri Lanka.

A multi-cultural troupe of 23 performers from a hugely diverse range of locations and backgrounds came together for a seven week rehearsal process to create a production which is performed in English, and incorporates Tamil, Malayalam, Sinhalese, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi and even a little Sanskrit.
