Children’s Theatre of Charlotte presents a public performance of The Ice Cream Man, featuring a cast of professional actors, under the direction of Mark Sutton, who present this powerful testament to the dangers of alcohol and substance abuse.
The Ice Cream Man will be performed this season in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for 8th and 10th grade students. The play follows the lives of high school students caught in the larger web of school, parties, social pressures, and the ever-present temptation to go down the unmarked path of narcotics and alcohol. Workshops following the productions help students understand the themes of the play while exploring ways to avoid the dangers of substance and alcohol abuse.
Recommended for students ages 12 and up.
