Go, Dog. Go!

The playful canines of P.D. Eastman’s classic book spring to life when Children’s Theatre of Charlotte presents Go, Dog. Go! The book’s joyously simple story line and charmingly colorful illustrations have made it a favorite of children, parents, and educators alike since its publication in 1961.

Inspired by their daughter’s love of the book, renowned playwrights and husband-and-wife team Steven Dietz and Allison Gregory have created an adaptation that stays true to the spirit of Eastman’s work. Their script uses only words used in the original book, finding a gleeful world of surprise within the text. The result is a festival of visual delight, as dogs of many colors skate, drive, sleep, work, play and party their way through a celebration of the joys of life. Dance, song, and circus-like antics mix together in this creatively staged, exuberant production that explores music, color, and space.
