About This Show

Katurian, a writer of horrifying short stories, is interrogated by the police in an unnamed totalitarian state. Gruesome crimes that mirror his short stories are being committed against children in his community. As the detectives perfect their good cop/bad cop routine, we enter into the darkly funny and disturbing world of the writer’s imagination. With black humor and an ironic bite that masks a deeply serious sense of purpose, The Pillowman asks many provocative questions – including: does violence in our society lead to violent art, or does violent art lead to violence in our society?
