It’s an election year and the gay marriage movement is dead. So why would Right Wing mastermind Cy Mason fight to resurrect it? Find out in the production New York City’s Gay City News declared “what satire should be…shrewd dialogue, sassy delivery, topical observations and just plain fun.” The Maguffin explores how contemporary political issues, in recent years gay marriage, are exploited by sound-bite politician’s need for media control and re-election. Ultimately, the right and left must pit themselves against each other to maintain their own identity.The Maguffin features characters reminiscent of Karl Rove, Jim McGreevey and Ann Coulter caught eating candy under their tasks, tangoing in sushi restaurants and singing alongside homosexual film directors.
