About This Show

The Philadelphia Fringe Festival is proud to present this special double bill.
In Rope, an aerial ballet, three ropes hang suspended over the stage as slowly, first one, then three dancers begin to descend, dancing both with the ropes as them, shaping through powerful and sometimes intimate movements. In symbiosis above the stage, the ropes act as performers as much as the dancers themselves.
Inspired by a trip to the Phillipines, New York-based choreographer Paz Tanjuanquio combines her unique style of dance and silky movement that is at once sensual and martial with spoken word, music, and video in Strange Fruit and Other Secrets.
