About This Show

On the night of the Confederate Memorial Day parade in 1913 Georgia, a young girl’s body is found in a factory basement-the victim of an unspeakable crime. The hunt for the perpetrator quickly centers on Leo Frank, the factory’s Jewish foreman. An overzealous prosecutor and an unscrupulous newsman quickly whip the people of the town into a frenzy out for blood. During this “Trial-of-the-Century” and its aftermath, Leo’s wife Lucille rediscovers what had originally drawn her to her husband and becomes a fierce advocate on his behalf. Only the conscience of the Governor can save an innocent man from the hangman’s noose. Based on a true story, this powerful, dramatic musical explores the ways in which adversity brings out the worst in some people and the best in others.
