New York City
In The Blood is Suzan-Lori Parks’ electrifying riff on Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, taking us to the hard streets of the inner city where Hester LaNegrita mothers her five children with tenderness and bravado. At once humorous and tough, this play offers a stunning and original look at poverty, community, and how we care for each other.
